Nils Sjöberg, credited on Calvin Harris/Rihanna hit, “This is What You Came For,” has been revealed to be a pseudonym for the recently-split Taylor Swift.
If you had searched for the clever alias, Nils Sjöberg, just last week, your results would have varied from Swede to Swede to Calvin Harris pictures, which was the intention of the couple in the midst of their year-long relationship.
In an (unsuccessful) attempt to keep the pair outside of media attention, Swift and Harris credited a false name on the hit, “This is What You Came For.” Swift not only co-wrote the single, but also “sings on a little bit of it too,” according to Harris in a recent Twitter rant commenting on the release of the news, which has been quite the fiasco.
Rumors surrounding the pseudonym have been active since last month, with fans, mostly from the Swift-side, continuously adding to the conversation on social media(s).
Harris posted several Tweets in backlash to the news, mostly negative responses, excluding praise for the singer as an “amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual.” Harris attempted to give himself credit, which he is due as he “wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals.”
Further, Harris claims that Taylor was the one who “wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.”
In his recent rant, Harris not only attacks team T-Swift for going “so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage,” but addresses Taylor and her new relationship with Tom Hiddleston with “if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear you ex bf down for something to do.”
The whole situation marks an even more unpleasant break between the two musicians, whose relationship was raved about for its duration.
